The Texas Public Health Association had its origin in the Texas Association of Sanitarians which was organized at Austin, Texas, November 16, 1923. On April 12, 1932, the constitution of the original association was rewritten and the organization was chartered under the name of the Texas Public Health Association.
The purpose for which the organization was formed is to promulgate for public health workers, courses of instruction, and the advancement of knowledge for sanitary improvements, public health nursing, hygiene control and prevention of communicable diseases.
The object of the association is to protect and promote the health of the people of Texas.
